You can expect nothing less than the best when you decide to be a part of the Love Indus family. Here is a new product out in the market that has its own unique charm and if you are not already in love with the aesthetics of the brand - you need to get your hands on its products to experience its magic.
I have tried two of the products from their line - the Velvet 08 detox mask and the Amrutini Precious Potion. Both the product have worked really well for me and have most definitely delivered everything that they promised.
However, I have to admit my special liking and a soft spot for the Velvet mask, and here is what I think about it.
This new kid on the block is here to stay.
Love, Indus is a premium skincare brand founded by Surbhee Grover. This New York-based brand finds its roots in the deep traditions of its Indian heritage and combines modern ideas with its rich customs and knowledge of botanical ingredients.
The brand believes in conscious beauty and provides skincare products that are a blend of potent natural ingredients that do not contain any artificial fragrances and colors.
It is also a women-owned company built on a strong foundation of being cruelty-free and ethical in all its endeavors.
This mask is nothing like anything I have tried before. The texture of the mask is very unique and it does stand true to the term velvet in its name.
It provides a deep cleanse and at the same time, it does not strip your skin making it feel dry and irritated like many other intense masks that you can find out in the aisles of beauty stores.
The mask has botanical ingredients like Thanaka, Marigold extract, Cactus extract, and Dragon's Blood (sap) which are all ingredients that are not commonly found in your regular run-of-the-mill products.
All their products are, also vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and organic.
The packaging of the product spells luxury to me. It uses its core colors of earthy tones and indigo. The glass jar has an undeniable premium feel to it and matches the aesthetic of the brand.
This product might be a little heavy on your pocket but trust me when I say that it is worth it. The jar also lasts for a really long time as the texture of the mask is very creamy and you do not need much for each use. Another option for this would be to try out the sample-size product version before jumping in to go for the full-size product. Once you try the sample I doubt you would be able to stop with that!
How do I use it?
I prefer going in with a mild cleanser before applying any sort of facial masque. I then apply a generous layer of the Velvet mask on slightly damp skin which helps it glide on and spread easily. This mask can ideally be left on for 8-10 minutes before you wash it off with lukewarm water.
The mask feels warm when you apply it to your skin and that is completely normal.
Your skin will feel soft and cleansed after you rinse it. It will not feel dry like the way most masks might make your skin feel - instead it will feel moisturized.
I prefer using a serum and light facial cream after this step but you can skip it altogether.
It really is that simple to use this mask!
